Saltwater Pearls

12-13mm-Tahitian_black_pearls.jpgSaltwater pearls are favored by those who simply can't settle with freshwater pearls. Saltwater pearls are a bit higher in price than freshwater pearls. This is because there is only one pearl grown in each oyster. On the other hand, with freshwater pearls there is usually twenty or more pearls grown in each oyster. There are several countries that are known for producing saltwater pearls. These countries include Thailand, Burma, Indonesia, Tahiti, Philippines, and Australia. You can find the magnificent black pearls in Tahiti. These black pearls continue to remain a favorite among many people around the world.
Saltwater pearls are well-known to be more lustrous than the freshwater pearl alternatives. This affects the worthiness and price of freshwater alternatives. Some examples of saltwater pearls would be the rare Australian pearls, the mystical Tahitian pearls, and the South Asian pearls. Saltwater pearls can be known as the type of pearl that satisfies the ones who must have the best no matter what it costs.
The culturing of saltwater pearls is rather interesting. A technician will make an incision on the gonad on the oyster. A small nucleus is put in and a tiny piece of mantle tissue is put in behind the nucleus. Saltwater pearls are grown in a sac that is located within the nucleus. This concept is the same for all saltwater pearls that are cultured currently.
There will always remain that precious pearl one can't resist. It doesn't matter if it cost's an arm and a leg, if you really want it, you will pay whatever the price may be. Saltwater pearls are very notorious for this as stated previously. Keep in mind, people will always flock to freshwater pearls as a cheaper solution. Only the ones that know truly what they want will continue to purchase/obtain saltwater pearls for their unique and high-quality harvesting process.process.
