Gina K Sneak Peeks Day #3……………..Light Of The Season and Heirloom Ornament!!!!
Here’s our final day of peeks!!! This is the Free With Three set designed by Gina called Light Of The Season . It’s perfect for quick holiday greetings!! I decided to make a bright set of cards using Pure Luxury Red Hot and Wild Dandelion. I colored with matching Copics and tied a big, wide bow,freshwater Pearl Necklaces! I love big bows, but they take a bit of doing to get just right! LOL Had to add a bit of Stickles to the flames!! This gift set shows Nina’s new set Heirloom Ornaments that also is designed to go perfectly with Heirloom Ornament Nestabilities!!! I decided it would be fun to make some jewelry…..so I used shrink plastic to make some earrings using one of the ornament images and I stamped a different ornament image to cut out and use to decorate the glass tile. I had to make a matching card using the fun, large sentiment and a matching little gift tin!!! For the little earring holder I also stamped an ornament image. I used Pure Luxury Black Onxy, Ivory and Lipstick Red.

A few months back, while cat-sitting for my gal Joanna, I noticed she had taken an ornate, pretty, little frame and added mesh screening to it. Behold, a quick and easy earring holder! I became quickly obsessed with the idea, wanting something larger to store my massive collection of necklaces. While on a work errand, I came across a stunning and slightly gaudy gilded frame at Michael’s, on clearance for $19.99, maybe $29.99. It came home with me and has sat for the last few months. That is, until the charming Ainsley Hayes managed to get on the mantle with my jewelry, knocking it all over the place. At that point, I decided some organization & structure was needed (and I STILL can’t find my favorite earrings). What You’ll Need: A frame of your liking. Cork board, or a bulletin board. I recommend trying to buy them similar sizes, or very close in size.

Maybe you’ve seen THIS POST where I made an earring holder. I also wrote a ‘Jewel School’ article in the Sept09 issue of Bead Trends entitled Earring Frame, re-creating it in a smaller version. I have made many since the first post on my blog, and I no longer use the large frame; but two smaller ones. You can see those two a little bit at the end of my post ‘An Unwanted Closet Becomes A Vanity’ . K, that’s by the by… what I’m getting to is I have recenly made some more earring holders, with a great idea for necklaces & bracelets. It started with an idea for a couple christmas presents for friends that don’t wear earrings. I cut a couple boards, painted them white, and drilled holes in them about 2″ apart. Here’s one before I drilled the holes, and one with holed drilled. You can also see I drilled two holes with a recess (3rd from either end) for the screws that would attach it to the wall, I bought white head screws to give with the gift, so they look lovely and clean when hung.
